Manhattan creator Sam Shaw has taken to Twitter to express his pride and gratitude at the cancelled WGN series‘ two season run:
What does Emily Post say about tweeting at one's own funeral?

Pride is one of the big seven, I know, but I'm indescribably proud of the two seasons of MANHATTAN we were lucky enough to make.

And even prouder of the company I got to keep these last two years. To our cast and crew, writers and directors, thank you and ❤️❤️❤️.

Having previously confirmed plans for Season 3 and beyond, Shaw insists the “best was yet to come” for the series, had it dodged that fatal cancellation bullet:
You guys will have to take my word for it, but the best was yet to come.

Shaw appeared to rule out any faint hope of Manhattan Season 3 at another outlet, rounding off his ‘thank you’ message to fans with “see you at the next party?”
To everybody who found the show, watched and tweeted and beat the drums, I can't possibly thank you enough. See you at the next party?

We’ll monitor the cancellation graveyard in the unlikely event of a Manhattan revival…
