ABC has officially cancelled Manhattan Love Story, which becomes the first victim of the fall season.
The network has pulled the plug on the low-rated romantic comedy with immediate effect, replacing it with back-to-back originals of its lead-in Selfie in the Tuesday 8PM slot, following next week’s Halloween pre-emption.
The most recent episode pulled a 0.7 among adults 18-49 with 2.6 million viewers.
Manhattan Love Story will take little to no solace from the fact that cancellation axe swung curiously late this fall, five weeks in the season, with networks allowing more time to see how their shows fare. Last season, for example, ABC’s Lucky 7 was buried after two episodes.
Manhattan Love Story is not expected to find second life in a new home. No word yet on whether the remaining episodes will ever see the light of day. Update: The unaired episodes will be available on Hulu.
RIP.
