Network Has Now Given Full-Season Orders to Five New Fall Shows
Three Additional Episodes of Sophomore Medical Drama “Code Black” Also Prescribed
CBS announced today full-season pick-ups for THE GREAT INDOORS and MAN WITH A PLAN, ordering six more episodes of both freshman comedies that premiered late in the fall, on Oct. 27 and Oct. 24, respectively.
CBS has now given full season episode orders to five of its new fall series. These comedies join the previously announced BULL, the season’s #1 new program; KEVIN CAN WAIT, the season’s #1 new comedy; and MACGYVER, Friday’s #1 new series.
In addition, CBS has ordered three more episodes of the sophomore medical drama CODE BLACK.
THE GREAT INDOORS, the #2 new comedy of the season, is averaging 8.67 million viewers, 2.7/08 and adults 25-54 and 1.9/07 in adults 18-49.
MAN WITH A PLAN is averaging 6.96 million viewers, 2.3/06 in adults 25-54 and 1.5/05 in adults 18-49. The series retains +89% of its KEVIN CAN WAIT viewer lead-in and +83% of its adult 18-49 rating in CBS’s new Monday 8:00 PM comedy block.
CODE BLACK is averaging 7.94 million viewers, 2.1/06 in adults 25-54 and 1.5/05 in adults 18-49.

The orders bring Man With A Plan and Great Indoors‘ first seasons to 19 episodes (billed as ‘full seasons’ by CBS due to their late premieres) and Code Black Season 2 to 16 episodes. The extensions are shy of the full 22-episode orders that would have represented a major sign of confidence, but importantly keep the shows in contention for renewal.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the cancel/renew status of Man With A Plan/The Great Indoors Season 2 and Code Black Season 3…
