Lizzie McGuire Season 3 revived? Creator Terri Minsky “absolutely” wants to resurrect the Hilary Duff sitcom that ran for three seasons on Disney Channel from 2001-2004, per TheWrap:
“I would do it in a heartbeat. But it’s not up to me. Somebody else has to want to do it and make it happen, but I certainly try to let the involved parties know, ‘if anybody’s interested, hi!’ I would absolutely do it.”
Where would Lizzie be in 2017? Minsky already has a plot in place having recently worked on an episode of Duff’s TV Land comedy Younger:
“She still looks like Lizzie McGuire to me in this role. The fact that she is this cool, fashionable, intelligent executive, it all makes sense to me, and the only thing missing is the little animated character telling us what’s really going on inside her head.”
For her part, Duff would also be game for a revival:
“[I’d be] totally open [to the idea of a reunion of the Disney Channel show’s cast] Why not? I mean, so many people loved her. I loved her. Honestly, working on that show, I got so strong with my physical comedy and all the things that they would throw at me. I got covered in goo every week, and I got, like, smashed in the face with a locker every single week. I mean it was a really, really fun show. And obviously people really loved her. Maybe a Lizzie: Where Are You Now? like 10 years later.”
Is Lizzie McGuire the next classic TV show revival? Stay tuned as we monitor the TV afterlife…
