January 17, 2016 – Wayne Tuttle maintains that he’s ready to start work on Legends of Superstition Mountains Season 2, however, it’s “up to History channel. Everyone’s waiting on them.”
January 5, 2016 – Tuttle believes there’s enough unaired material from the first season Legends of Superstition Mountains to fill more episodes, however, there’s still no word on a second season:
“Ask history channel [about Season 2]. They could run the out takes that were edited and I think it would make everyone happy. Some great interviews and prospecting footage never made it on tv.”
December 25, 2015 – Tuttle confirms that History still hasn’t ordered a second season of Legends of Superstition Mountains, which remains firmly in limbo:
“Everything waits on history channel. It’s all waiting on their scheduling.”
November 30, 2015 – Wayne Tuttle assures fans that Legends of Superstition Mountains hasn’t been cancelled, though he’s still waiting to hear about Season 2:
“Nope [it hasn’t been cancelled]. I’m told we are waiting by the production company and I’m under contract to A&E regardless”.
November 15, 2015 – Wayne Tuttle confirms that Legends of Superstition Mountains remains in limbo, with Season 2 uncertain: “We have no idea [about Season 2]. That is history’s decision.”
September 15, 2015 – Series host Wayne Tuttle updates on the status of Legend of Superstition Mountains, confirming that a second season remains up in the air at History.
March 15, 2015 – In a Youtube video released prior to the Season 1 finale, co-host Eric Deleel confirmed that Legend of the Superstition Mountains Season 2 is in limbo. Daleel suggests that a second season is largely dependent on those all-important ratings:

For History Channel to end Mystery of the Superstition Mountains and leave all the viewers hanging without an answer to the last show of the season is not right. You know that there is more so why doesn’t the network continue. I know that the ratings were very good so do the right thing and renew a fantastic show much better than most others that you have been renewed already.

Not renewing this show would be pure agony considering the mind boggling season finale. It quite possibly inflicted the greatest cliffhanger of all time, save for maybe the first season of Lost. Cancellation would be a ridiculous betrayal of Terra Nova proportions, and the only appropriate response would be outrage.

The true story of finding the mine 80 miles away from the superstition mountains was published in Lost Treasure Magazine June 2016 cover story.
But Tuttle and his team refuse to mention the article….ever. They are basically lying to their own fans. The mine is real and there are Peralta ruins at the site. But it is not in the superstition mountains. So the Lost Dutchman state park is in the wrong place, which makes my discovery very political. But Tuttle and his compadres pride, the park and their little cottage industry are not worth the life of the next person who will die searching for this place. It has been found. And they did not find it. In fact they have never found a shred of evidence the mine even exists. I wonder why they never talk about the Peralta maps anymore?

This was great family tv. I’m sure Wayne Tuttle and the boys are ready and willing to go. So let’s get them back on tv.
