ABOUT KOSHER SOUL
The adage says opposites attract…and in the case of Lifetime’s all-new docu-sitcom “Kosher Soul” (#KosherSoul), which follows the lives of Los Angeles stylist Miriam Sternoff, who is Jewish, and her fiancé, southern and African-American comedian O’Neal McKnight, they do. Premiering Wednesday, February 25, at 10p ET/PT, divergent worlds will clash as Miriam and O’Neal’s friends and family prepare for the couple’s nuptials, including O’Neal’s conversion to Judaism and their future as husband and wife.
Despite doubts and concerns from their loved ones, recently engaged Miriam and O’Neal are preparing to marry and begin their lives in a Jewish home. Madly in love, O’Neal is ready to prove his dedication to Miriam by converting to Judaism in order to be accepted by her mother, Nancy, who wants her future grandchildren to be raised Jewish. At the same time, Miriam is trying to blend O’Neal’s southern upbringing and traditions into her life. What results is a hilarious and touching peek into the love and affection between two soul mates whose deep and emotional connection overcomes cultural barriers. [Lifetime]

I belive they must be cancelled at this time. I saw the ads and thought it might be worth a shot. I DVR’ed the shows and watched the first (3) weeks. As a Jewish American I was someone insulted by the show. The guys made converting a joke. You don’t convert for someone else and no Rabbi will let you convert unless you want to. You can’t do it for anyone but yourself. He made a mockery of it. I had planned on taking if off my DVR then today I see two new ones popped on my DVR from after hours. They must have decided to scap it and show the end of the season out of Prime Time. Anyone reading this should know that once a show is not what you watch you should take it off your DVR schedule as they get credit for a viewer they don’t really have. I’m glad it’s cancelled. I like the male character but the conversion stuff was insulting to any jew. It would be the same if she was trying to convert to his relgion also. I’m very shocked that Lifetime would even air such a show and I hope they will think before the next insulting show. Nice people or so they betrayed and I wish them a lifetime of happness,

I absolutely loved this show. TO me I would call it a romantic comedy . The two characters have such a lovely funny romantic rapport. It was something I’ve never seen on TV or the Movie Theatres. There was no ridiculous slapstick nor fake drama. Just a great show about an interracial couple and they go about living out what normally happens between a Jew and a comedienne. I would love to see it back. PLEEEZE BRING IT BACK…I miss that great couple!!’

Melanie Stark you must be one of those people who have absolutely no sense of humor. I’m thinking you’re a Jew because your type would of course be insulted that a Jew would ever be involved with a black man. OMG what would people say. Go get a life AND A SENSE OF HUMOR!
