Cinemax has officially cancelled The Knick after two seasons. RenewCancelTV has confirmed that the Steven Soderbergh medical drama will not return for the planned third and fourth seasons.
Kary Antholis, president, HBO Miniseries and Cinemax Programming, said of the decision to pull the plug on The Knick:
After a critically acclaimed two-season run of The Knick on Cinemax, we will not be going forward with additional seasons of the series. Despite our pride in and affection for the series, as well as our respect for and gratitude towards Steven Soderbergh and his team, we have decided to return Cinemax to its original primetime series fare of high-octane action dramas, many of which will be internationally co-produced.”
RIP.

One of the most entertaining and informative TV dramas I ever watched. I learned SO MUCH about early 20th century life and medicine in New York City. A real shame it won’t continue.

“The Knick” was a superb series with stellar acting — very poor decision to cancel such an excellent program !! WOW !!

There are too many reality TV shows etc and not enough good dramas to watch. The Knick was one of the best, why do excellent dramas always end up getting cancelled?

Hi
i totally agree with the views expressed. I thought it was a great programme and very gritty unlike some of todays shows. i am very disappointed. Its a shame that we seem to need to show glitz and glamour rather than good drama

Oh no! I really enjoyed this show. There are so many unresolved story lines. This is awful

It is very hard to understand why a program of this high quality should be axed.
