Discovery has ordered six additional episodes of true-crime series Killing Fields, with the potential for more, THR confirms:
The cable network has ordered a minimum of six more episodes of true-crime series Killing Fields.
Killing Fields premiered to solid numbers in early January. Thanks to the success of HBO’s The Jinx and Netflix’s Making a Murderer, true crime has become a hot trend in Hollywood. SundanceTV has followed suit, making it’s 2005 true crime series The Staircase available again on it’s website and app.
“This is not your typical true crime series,” said Discovery Group president Rich Ross. “It is uniquely Discovery by allowing viewers to experience what it’s like to track an active and real criminal investigation.”
No word on a second season yet, but the additional Season 1 order suggests the network is pleased with the series thus far.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor status of Killing Fields Season 2…
