Wild Bill has left the building.
ITV has cancelled Rob Lowe’s British cop drama after just one season.
An ITV spokesperson had the following to say of the cancellation news:
“We are immensely proud of Wild Bill and loved working with Rob Lowe and the production teams at 42, MultiStory Media and Anonymous Content. However, Wild Bill sadly won’t be returning for a second instalment. We are hugely grateful for the warm welcome we received whilst filming in Boston, Lincolnshire.”
RIP.

Are you feckin serious? How do you draw people in and leave them in the lurch like that? Seriously pissed off. Jeez, even my kids watched it and they hate Brittish police series.
watcher says
Yes, you’re right. Stupid of ITV.
Kishere says
A breath of fresh air, a new take on the police drama from with a hint of comic cynicism. Such a shame it wasn’t given the chance of another season.
I. Frazer says
Jeez. Get invested, follow it, talk to others, get a group watching & discussing it.
Then…
You pull the rug out & leave us hanging? With all the plot questions unresolved?
You guys need a serious reality check on what we, the audience, likes, Vs what you think we like.
In the case of Wild Bill, you are totally wrong.
Sasha Deveau says
Totally agree. It was shot well, very good writing and interesting characters. The acting was excellent. Lowe carried himself well, throughout. I was thoroughly invested. I have read that ITV cancels with impunity. Big mistake.
Bryan says
The premise was a little odd but it was well written and had depth. Sorry to see it go.
Dave says
Just found out today that it was cancelled. Up until 15 minutes ago I thought there was a Second series coming and was waiting happily. Now angry and confused.
Very bad news. This is a great show and deserves a second series.
Are we just going to get more Kardashian krap to fill the time?
I suppose WB was just not lowbrow enough.
Shame.
Lois says
Seriously??? I was really looking forward to a second season. What will we get as a replacement- another “reality” show?
Catherine says
Half way into E1 and love the quick sharp writing. Reminds me of Aaron Sorkin’s writing, which makes Rob Lowe perfect as Wild Bill. Wasnt surprised to see it cxl’d. So many of the really great shows are…

Why is it the good ones get cancelled really liked this show
M. L. Bell says
So very disappointed with the cancellation of Wild Bill. It was one of the most bright, intelligent and witty shows produced in ages. Would really appreciate the reason for canceling such an interesting showl

Loved this show. Never sure how these decisions are made since some of the shows that linger for several years I find agonizing to watch whereas others such as Wild Bill had serious moments but still had some fun characters and good plots. OH, well, as usual if I like something it usually disappears, must be me.
Clifford Beaven says
The decisions are made by unprofessional left wing morons. They get paid a great deal to make these ignorant decisions.
It needs to be offered to Netflix, Britbox, Amazon Prime or Hulu.
I just finished binge watching it.
Excellent production and great character acting by all the cast. Hope some media company pics it up
Tim says
I’m glad to see I wasn’t the ONLY one upset about this! What is with ITV? They have a great show, with great acting, great writing and a rapidly growing audience on BOTH sides of the Atlantic. What do they do? They cancel it. Who is making these decisions? Clearly, they need to be fired.
Charles says
Rather short sighted to cancel a show based on initial UK ratings. Everyone knows that it’s the US ratings for UK shows that is the ratings driver. Everyone except ITV it seems. Poor decision to cancel Wild Bill.
Steve says
This show was clever, well scripted, and a true pleasure. I am in the US, and a lover of British murder mysteries,. This was one of the best, despite its quirky premise. I am so sad they quit on it.
Tom Farmer says
Rob Lowe as a human is kind of a putz. As an actor, he’s pretty great. This show, with Lowe’s talents as a actor, and a notch-above-ordinary writing, was quite good, and certainly worthy of the effort to make a second season.
Richard Zoppo says
I liked it. It was good. Of course it was cancelled.
