Sky has cancelled Hooten & the Lady after one season, RenewCancelTV has learned.
The British action-adventure series, which premiered July 13, 2017 on The CW in the US (following its UK run last year), will not return for Season 2.
The axing comes despite initial hopes that the show’s revenue-boosting US run would increase the odds of a second season. However, CW chief Mark Pedowitz admits Hooten‘s key 18-49 demo numbers aren’t at the level required for further investment.
As such, Sky has opted to discontinue the series.
RIP.

Hooten & the Lady. I loved it. Just the sort of programme we need. To much unnecessary violence, blood and gore and bad language and sex around …. this was a refreshing show with chemistry between the main leads.
Jeremy Yaqub says
Big mistake – great action and humour, chemistry was getting really good between the two leads.

Loved this. But it wasn’t well advertised to gain an audience.

Extremely disappointed that this entertaining show has been cancelled. It was a joy to watch. The leads were excellent. Interesting story line every week.

It was a awesome show. my parents and sister were even like what? from the title, but they watched the first episode and were hooked. you need to give this a better chance and promote it. it was a refreshing show that should have more seasons.

Better than a lot of shows right now that have been givien a renewal…should have givien it one more season, some chance to develop…Another case of where whoever the powers be did not let give it time to cultivate or capture an audience.
If one of those companies entering streaming TV needs product to launch, H & the Lady might be a good suggestion.. but time is of the essence…Anyway, consider it, I really do believe it is a fine enough show…
