Mary Berry, Nia Vardalos, Ian Gomez, and Johnny Iuzzini Return to the American Adaption of the U.K.’s Most Watched Television Show
Following a successful season one on the ABC Television Network, “The Great American Baking Show” (formerly “The Great Holiday Baking Show”) is back! Based on the hit UK series “The Great British Bake Off,” this series is hosted by Nia Vardalos (“My Big Fat Greek Wedding”) and husband Ian Gomez (“Cougar Town”) and stars some of the nation’s best bakers, as they compete in a series of themed challenges and eliminations all hoping to be crowned “America’s Best Amateur Baker.”
James Beard Award-winning pastry chef and author Johnny Iuzzini joins Britain’s “Royal Queen of Baking,” author and television personality Mary Berry, as a judge. Each week they will taste the decadent and delicious fare these bakers create, as they throw down their best culinary skills.

ABC has renewed The Great Holiday Baking Show for Season 2, Reality Blurred reports.
Judges Mary Berry and Johnny Iuzzini, along with hosts Nia Vardalos and Ian Gomez, will return for the expanded 8-episode second season, which will film this fall to air December and January.
In addition, ABC has reportedly cooked up a new name for the series – The Great American Baking Show.
