Judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry have saved the BBC’s Great British Bake Off’s bacon by refusing to swap sides to ITV.
The Beeb is doubling its fee to keep the hugely popular show but even that may not have been enough without Mary and Paul’s backing.
The corporation will fork out £15million to screen the most popular show on British TV for the next three years. The past three series cost it £7.5m.
