Netflix has cancelled Girlboss after one season. The comedy-drama will not return for Season 2, RenewCanceTV has confirmed.
Girlboss is inspired by the New York Times best-selling book #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, founder of the fashion brand Nasty Gal. The series centers on Amoruso (Britt Robertson), who began selling vintage clothes on eBay and, by the age of 28, had built the multi-million dollar fashion empire, Nasty Gal.
Amoruso said of the cancellation:
“So that Netflix series about my life got canceled. While I’m proud of the work we did, I’m looking forward to controlling my narrative from here on out. It was a good show, and I was privileged to work with incredible talent, but living my life as a caricature was hard even if only for two months. Yes, I can be difficult. No, I’m not a dick. No, someone named Shane never cheated on me. It will be nice to someday tell the story of what’s happened in the last few years. People read the headline, not the correction, I’ve learned.”
Per sources, Girlboss Season 2 will not be shopped to other outlets, closing the series down for good.
Girlboss joins recent high-profile Netflix cancellations Sense8 and The Get Down in the graveyard.
RIP.

Why? Why? Why? I was so looking forward to watching season 2 of Girlboss. Please reconsider this decision. This makes me so annoyed with cable & TV in general. I find shows that I so enjoy & look forward to watching them & they get cancelled. UGH!!
