The Garfield Show cancelled? No Season 6? The future of the animated Boomerang series is in doubt, with supervising producer Mark Evanier revealing that Season 5 has been shortened to just four episodes, with Season 6 renewal very much up in the air:
“For complicated reasons that would bore the heck out of you, Season 5 of The Garfield Show consists only of the four episodes of “Rodent Rebellion.” There are not nor will there ever be any more in Season 5. We may or may not do a Season 6 but that’s still under discussion. Season 5 is just those four cartoons which air as two half-hours.”
With Season 5 receiving the burn-off treatment on October 24, the future looks bleak for Garfield.
