It’s finally official – HBO has renewed Game Of Thrones for Season 8, and in doing so has confirmed what we’ve all known for a while, that it will also be the last in the series.
GOT’s eighth and final season is slated to premiere in 2018, bringing the fantasy drama to what producers believe will be a satisfying conclusion.
The penultimate seventh season premieres summer 2017.
Season 8 is definitely the final season of #GameofThrones. HBO has talked about spinoffs but no concrete plans. #TCA16

Season 8 of #GOT will be the last. The number of episodes is still fluid, but winter is coming and we'll all be crushed #TCA16

I like the way they put an exclamation mark at the end of a sentence like it’s a good thing. I mean, we’ve known about the last two seasons, which in my book, should have been a one 13 episode season. My version would have looked like this; “Game Of Thrones Renewed For 8th & Final Season By HBO.” 🙁
