FOX News Channel Re-Signs Eric Bolling to Multiyear Contract
NEW YORK –FOX News Channel’s (FNC) Eric Bolling has re-signed a long-term contract with the network, announced Suzanne Scott, president of programming for FNC. Bolling will remain as co-host of The FOX News Specialists (weekdays at 5PM/ET) and host of Cashin’ In (Saturdays/11:30AM–12PM/ET). He will also continue to host FNC’s annual New Year’s Eve special, All-American New Year.
“Over the past decade I have proudly made FOX News Channel my broadcasting home. I am thrilled that I will continue in my role at FNC and very much look forward to developing many more successful programs for our loyal and patriotic viewership!”
In making the announcement, Scott said, “Eric has cultivated a strong fan base and has become a staple to the FOX News brand. His insight is valued and we are pleased to have him at the network for many more years to come.”
Bolling added, “Over the past decade I have proudly made FOX News Channel my broadcasting home. I am thrilled that I will continue in my role at FNC and very much look forward to developing many more successful programs for our loyal and patriotic viewership!”
As co-host of The FOX News Specialists (5-6 PM/ET) Bolling, alongside Katherine Timpf and Eboni K. Williams, discusses the top stories driving the news headlines of the day with two guest experts known as the “specialists,” who provide unique analysis on the stories trending in America. Since the program’s launch on May 1st, the program has averaged 1.9 million viewers and 341,000 in the 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, The FOX News Specialists is up 18% with Adults 25-54 and remains in the top 10 rated cable news programs overall, ranked eighth ahead of MSNBC’s primetime program All In with Chris Hayes and CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360.
In addition to his role as co-host of The FOX News Specialists, Bolling also hosts Cashin’ In (Saturdays, 11:30AM – 12PM/ET), where he takes an in-depth look at all aspects of practical personal money management, including 401K plan investing, real estate investment and college tuition savings. A contributor to FNC and FOX Business Network (FBN), Bolling served as an original co-host of The Five, and helped launch the popular ensemble roundtable program in 2011. Additionally, he co-hosted FNC’s New Year’s Eve special, All-American New Year in both 2015 and 2016, and hosted multiple programs on FBN including Follow the Money and Happy Hour as well as FoxNews.com’s Strategy Room. Prior to joining FBN in 2008, Bolling helped launched CNBC’s Fast Money as an original panelist.
Before embarking on his career in television, Bolling was an independent trader based out of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) specializing in crude oil, gold and agricultural commodities. He also served on the NYMEX’s Board of Directors for five years, and subsequently acted as a strategic adviser there. Bolling was named the Maybach Man of the Year in 2007 and one of Trader Monthly’s Top Traders in 2007 and 2008. A successful author, his first book “Wake Up America” became an instant New York Times best seller.
A graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, Bolling was awarded a fellowship to Duke University’s School of Public Policy. He was drafted in the 22nd round of the 1984 Major League Baseball Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates and was assigned to their affiliate in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League. (FNC | BW)
Andrew says
Tis show sucks, Eric Bolling is good as usual, but Kat Timpf is far to annoying, Eboni Williams is average at best.
Louise says
I like the show Eric is terrific but Kay should’ve been replaced before you renewed for Season 2
gayla says
this show Is awful for sure now that Eric Boling is gone hope FOX cancels this awful thing
NINA says
Get rid of Ebony and Kat and your show will shine. These two bimbo’s are pathetic. They need to go back to school and learn about gov’t and how it works. Ebony the skank is no more a lawyer then I am. And that other white bimbo is NOT a comedian. She looks like Harry Carey in those glasses of hers. GET THEM THE HELL OFF THE AIR. BRING BACK DEAR ERIC AND LET HIM DO THE WHOLE DAMN SHOW. WHAT’S WRONG WITH FOX??????
Faun says
It’s a horrible show, FOX must be desperate.
Tom says
Eric and Eboni are compelling. But Kat Timpf is simply awful. She has no depth to her comments, which 9 times out of 10 are accompanied by her annoying “make up for having nothing to say” (listen for it).
The most wincing 6 seconds on television is when Timpf dramatically reads off the Teleprompter”…and WE are the Fox New Specialists” when the rotation comes to her for the show’s introduction. Ouch. She’s not compelling enough to be a Fox News updater.
Eric and Eboni with the two Guests Specialists makes for a decent – sometimes intriguing – program (so far the show has avoided Outnumbered’s biggest problem, the predictable recycling of the same platoon of the outnumbered #1LuckyGuys, by brining in a variety of guests).
Kat is merely annoying. She brings the momentum of the discussion to awkward pauses every time she has to remind us she’s sitting there in front of the camera – even when Eric and Eboni throw her a softball to get her into a dialogue she’s not experienced or insightful enough to meaningfully contribute to.
Probably the BEST thing Fox can do is put Eric back on The Five in the evening – that chemistry is need of a makeover as well. Short of that, going with just Bolling and Williams on The Specialists is addition by subtraction.
Larry Thornburg says
I like the show and everyone that I have talked fills the same way. I don’t understand the other commits, they don’t understand the news of the day. In fact the specialist is even better than the Five (Since Beck has been canned). However I did notice that Beck and Waters did not see eye to eye and maybe disliked each other. Anyway keep the Specialist you will not be sorry.
Jim says
The Specialist is mediocre at best. Put the Five back at 5pm and Specialist at 9pm and I would at least watch the Five again.
Janice says
We don’t like this show at all….have switched to watching local news. Bring the Five back at 5:00
Lynn says
This show is AWFUL. I will not watch it again after today…Eboni’s rant was offensive to me. I gave this show a try, but will NEVER watch it again. You should read all the comments from disgusted viewers.
Louise says
I have never been so prompted to write in to complain about a tv show but this show is jus so horrible and not up to Fox standards I had to speak up. It is soo shallow and influenced by the reporters individual beliefs it is just not worth watching as a serious show totally misses the point just a bunch of competing giggling girls the gentleman reporter is excellent and should remove himself from the company of the foolish trio they just make noise. Please please put something compelling and serious in this time slot people who watch Fox are serious about their news this is painfull to watch I will not be watching Fox until something suitable comes back.
Michele says
This show is terrible. Now that Eric is gone I have to change the channel for the hour! Get rid of it!
Pat P says
How could you renew this dog? Eboni know it all sucks !!
Dave says
This show is terrible. We have quit watching it. Eboni and Kat are not suited to co-host. Eboni runs on and on. And Kat talks and says nothing. Who is she related to?
Holly says
I agree with above posts….show was not great from the start and now it is terrible. Amateur hour is an understatement. Kat acts like an intern on her first day on the job, I literally cringe watching her open the show. Eboni is so elite and acting all high and mighty now that Eric is gone. Totally unwatchable.
Marie Trial says
This shoe is terrible, I always watched Fox News from 5:00 until after Tucker, no more I watch local news at 5:00 then switch to Fox. Cancel that Terrible show, Kat and Eboni are terrible and I can’t stand watching them.
Brynda says
No show without Eric, and a no show for me Fox. You have 2 people who are annoying at best, one screeches and the other talks to hear herself talk. You allow them too much airtime for their limited knowledge of the real world. Since Fox bends to liberal accusations and make their people guilty until Proven innocent, I won’t be watching any longer, in fact reruns of Bones and Castle are more appealing than watching your current train wrecks. You really don’t have anything going for you now Fox except for Hannity and if he goes there really is no point in watching your channel.
Mike says
This show is awful, tried watching it a few times. Bring back the five as it is much better suited for that time slot. Now I just leave my TV off at this time off day.
Arlene B says
Without a doubt, there is something strange going on at Fox. Isn’t it questionable that so many of the men are being accused of sexual harassment or is it just a coincidence….or, is it just a way to get rid of those individuals who do not agree with the new liberal culture of the network. For years, since my retirement, I watched Fox from morning until late night. It was where I went to hear the news because I believed in the fair and balanced reporting and the somewhat entertaining personalities. I EVEN LIKED MEGYN KELLY AT FIRST. It was subtle but obvious…FOX WAS BECOMING ANOTHER CNN. Megyn Kelly realized that she was an actress, drama queen, or someone really important. Her silly laughter, eye rolls, and innuendos began to be irritating….I was happy to see her go. When they fired Bill O’Reilly, I began to question my loyalty….why do I continue to watch. Now there is Shepard Smith….I am now forced to turn him off. OK, today I hear that Eric Boling was fired. That’s the straw that broke the camel’s back. To boot, that God awful show, The Specialists, was so bad that I wonder how they were able to find advertisers to spend the money on PURE STUPID, especially after Eric left. He, at least held the show together… Eboni is mediocre; but, Kat should never have been given the opportunity. She fails miserably and is totally boring. There aren’t many worth while folks or shows left and I am one of those many viewers who won’t be wasting their time with Fox’s nonsense. Either repair the damage or it’s over for me.
