Forever boss Matt Miller has confirmed that the ABC drama’s cancellation will indeed be forever, after it failed to resurrect at a new home:
This is a hard message to write but I’m sorry to report that despite Warners Bros best efforts they haven’t been able to find a new home for Forever. That doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying but wanted to give you all the real, although disheartening news.
I’ve been hesitant to reach out because I (like you) didn’t want to believe that this was really the end. We had so much story left to tell, questions unanswered; romances unfulfilled; characters to introduce… But I suppose I was asking for trouble when I named the show Forever. We all knew this day would come, but when you’re writing a character with 200 years of backstory, 22 episodes doesn’t seem like enough.
Forever Cancellation – Ioan Gruffudd Weighs In
That said, we are all super proud of the show we made. It was a charmed experience making this show and I’m grateful to everyone involved and that includes YOU. Especially you.
When the show was first canceled the outpouring of support was truly touching and I assumed would dissipate after a day or two. But something incredible happened. You guys grew! The longer we were off the air the more passionate you became. And perhaps most impressively, you always remained positive. A snark-less and cynicism-free international fan base? Perhaps our greatest achievement to date.
So, that’s where we stand. Wish I had better news. But if we’ve learned nothing else from Dr. Henry Morgan, it’s that it’s a long life. And who knows? Maybe some cable channel or streaming service will come to the obvious conclusion we all have… there’s a great cast and crew out there ready to get back to work. Hey, a 200 year old immortal washed up naked on the shores of Manhattan. Stranger shit has happened.

They never gave it a chance. TPTB are idiots for not seeing the potential in this unique show. It was gaining in viewers but I guess $$$ count. Hope Ioan & Judd Hirsch get something on another network who appreciates them.

I wish they would actually give Forever another chance after all the show didn’t have enough views Because there wasn’t enough advertising. See every time I asked a friend if they knew What Forever was they were like ‘What are you on about’ which is quite sad. Considering that the show truly dorsal have some unanswered questions. I mean they could try and run it for season 2 and then decide if it worth continuing and not just after one season when the show is starting to get good.
Let’s hope someone will decided to pick the show up for another season after all

This is definitely the most disappointing show cancellation to date, i mean a good few shows i liked have been cancelled but this one takes the cake, it was a great show and what i especially like about it is that its the type of show with a charm that needs no cliffhanger or excessive drama to keep you coming back for more, i always watched it right on time, next skipped a weak or even a few seconds while watching it.
Its truly a shame that bottom line resulted in a show like this being cancelled without it having chance to truly blossom with viewers and it will be dearly missed.

Now with all that said i still want it to come back, recently started watching Castle and in Season 5 episode 21 saw the actor for Henry and couldn’t help but look for some hope again.

As long as we all keep up the hope and faith in “Forever” there is hope that the show will come back . Read today that Prison break has been revived (not that i care for prison break) and even X files has come back i just hope that we don’t have to wait 20 years or so for Henry to come back he might live Forever i won’t 🙂

Its just like ABC, they do not listen to their viewers, which is why they are having less viewers, we are all going to other channels because they don’t care what we think. Forever was great, i was beginning to think maybe ABC was turning around, I am down to one chow, General Hospital and they are always threatening that, and the local news on ABC and the ABC National news. They need to start listening.

We are so disheartened that Forever was cancelled, it was one of our favorite shows. It had such a great cast and story. I do hope that someday Forever will get picked up again.
