HGTV has cancelled Fixer Upper after five seasons.
The home renovation series will not survive into Season 6, stars Chip and Joanna Gaines confirmed on their website:
It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last. While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place.
They added:
This has been an amazing adventure! We have poured our blood, sweat and tears into this show. We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause. Our family is healthy and our marriage has honestly never been stronger. This has nothing to do with a fraudulent skincare line or anything else you’ll inevitably read. This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment. Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses.
We are really, really proud of season 5. We laid it all on the field and didn’t hold anything back. We think it’s the perfect finale to this amazing journey we’ve been on.
Though our Fixer Upper chapter is coming to a close, we aren’t done with Waco. We aren’t done renovating homes. We aren’t done designing things to make your home your favorite place on earth. We aren’t done working towards restoration in all things or helping out those who could use a hand. In fact, in all of these of things, we are just getting started.
Who knows what the future holds, but we’re excited for whatever is around the bend and in the meantime, we will definitely be staying in touch.
Before entering the cancellation graveyard, the fifth and final season of Fixer Upper premieres November 2017.
RIP.

I stopped watching these two kooks when all the drama began. Quick surprised they lasted this long on the air.
Good riddance to another boring real estate flip show.

You have no taste if you think they are boring. They are the sweetest couple on TV. They, not HGTV, decided not to do another season after this one is over. They want to focus on their precious children. I have loved this show and will watch until the very end.

Fixer upper is my favorite tv show. Chip and Joanna Gains has transformed the look of remodeling homes and businesses. Their design has opened eyes to anything that is imaginable and leased expected. I totally understand that family is first and without foundation what do you have? I truly hope that when their little one hits 5 or 6, the show will come back. The HGTV Show network will see the ratings have not been the same and will understand the importance of the show. I love this show so much that I will and have always wanted to be a designer. I have most of their books for inspiration. Keep your head to the sky because anything is possible.

I doubt Chip and Johanna read all these, but if they do, I would like the to read something positive. To say I really enjoyed their show. I loved the way they involved their kids. They seemed like a typical, down home family. I would love them to Fixer Upper my place.

It is a sad day. They were everything good about HGTV. Without good people like these two, the network just gets boring.

A HUGE Thank you to Chip, Joanna and their entire family (kids and parents in laws)!
They have taken us along for the ride for the past several years and showed America that “old fashioned” values still exist– all wrapped up in home matters!
They are not just about home improvement, but rather, the feeling you get about the inner soul of your place of refuge from the world-your home and family life. A lovely sanctuary from the outside pressures and stress of life created beautifully through design and hard work.
Peace and joy continue to be with you and yours. I have a feeling that we may see more of you again when time, changes and seasons occur. At least, I hope so!

I hate that they, Chip and Joanna have decided to end “Fixer Upper”. I have loved this show from the beginning. I congratulate them on their coming “addition” to their family, and I wish them well in the future. Thanks for the laughs and all your talent and ideas and just plain everything!! Good luck and God Bless you and your family!! Love you guy

TIME to take all reruns off the air. They are really boring and you don’t need to see the same episode 10 times. Put something on interesting.
