Does this mean there wont be room for Series 2 – or could it return with a completely new story?
Quizzed about the potential for a second series by Reveal, actor Tom Cullen plays it coy, but insists fans will be “satisfied” if The Five doesn’t move forward into a second chapter:
“I think we’ll have to wait and see [if there’s room for Series 2]. The ending is satisfying and so we’ll have to see if there is more room to take the characters.
I kind of feel that it would be interesting to do a true detective type piece with it, where it’s a similar story but a different group of characters. But, having said that, I would love to work with everyone on the project again and I’d be thrilled if they wanted to do a second series with us.”
Co-star O.T. Fagbenle also promises full closure:
“This is the greatest thing with Harlan – there’s always an ending. He does this in his books as well. It is so easy to set up all these questions and then leave a whole load of loose ends and leave the audience to figure it out but Harlan is so fantastic at giving us that satisfying tick as all the loose ends come into place. He is just so good at giving that satisfying close off to everything. I love the ending and it is very moving.”
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor status of The Five Series 2…
