Netflix has cancelled Everything Sucks after one season, reversing its initial continuation plans for the comedy-drama, per THR:
The streaming giant has canceled rookie comedy Everything Sucks after one season.
Created by Ben York Jones (Like Crazy) and Michael Mohan (Save the Date), the 1990s-set coming out comedy series starring Peyton Kennedy (American Fable) and Jahi Winston (The New Edition Story) bowed on Feb. 16 to promising reviews.
Sadly, the series ended on a cliffhanger as creators Jones and Mohan were already plotting out a map for a potential second season.
The reversal on Everything Sucks leaves the way clear for a potential Season 2 renewal for fellow teen-drama On My Block.
Per production, Everything Sucks Season 2 was a lock prior to the success of Alexa & Katie, which was renewed for Season 2, and On My Block.
RIP.

Really makes me sad that the great show “ Everything Sucks” was not renewed for a second season…. we enjoyed watching it twice and just really don’t understand what your reasoning could be. It was a breath of fresh air with so many shows these day portraying violence and crime, and it had a gripping story to tell. Please reconsider your decision. It will have a huge following.

Now “Everything Does Suck” ! It was a great show! Good writing, good story lines, great acting. And a cliff hanger ending. Shame on you Netflix!!
