[The CW] is teaming with The O.C. creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage to reboot Dynasty.
The drama, which is in development, is based on the soap of the same name that aired for nine seasons on ABC and was created by Richard and Esther Shapiro and executive produced by Aaron Spelling. Both the Shapiros are attached to The CW reboot, which is being penned by Sallie Patrick, Schwartz and Savage.

The new Dynasty follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children. The series will be told primarily through the perspectives of two women at odds: Fallon Carrington — daughter of billionaire Blake Carrington — and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal — a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America’s most powerful class.

Elaine says
Why can’t they come up with new series. Stop bringing old ones back to life. I don’t care what anyone says, you cannot beat the original series or the actors. You would think by now, you would see it does not work.
Kay B. says
I totally agree with Elaine…stop trying to “remake” the old series. They are very rarely as good as, let alone better, then the original series. It would be one thing if they were able to get all of the original actors/actresses and do a reunion but that is not likely. On this same note…Stop trying to diversify the characters, it does NOT work at all. Also, stop creating all of these stupid “reality” TV shows and “adult” cartoon shows.
