DIG Cancelled After One Season By USA Network

May 12, 2015 by RenewCancelTV 62 Comments

USA Network has axed Dig after one season, it has been confirmed.

The creators had planned for Dig to return with a second season based around a new mystery featuring some of the original characters.

However, while ratings weren’t terrible they weren’t good enough for the network to justify a second season, and USA has now billed the series as a ‘one-and-done’ ten-part limited event.

RIP.

Everything worth watching gets cancelled. Like, Crossing Boarders. Dig excited me. I learned the Jewish GLBT format by investigating. I found that interesting, not realizing what was behind part of my intrigue w/ the show; I loved the Gay Jewish cop! It hot the character was genius. I hate network crap.
So sad. So very sad. So much plot. Made one THINK — Google a thing or two. Maybe learn something.

They need more then 10 episodes to know if the show is any good. I loved Dig Great characters interesting storyline. The “Powers that Be” don’t know squat about I guess nepotism runs rapid about them they would’nt a good show if it came up and bit them in their a$$ < that is most important #LOVEDDIG

I’m really disappointed it got cancelled, this show needed more episodes to reach a proper conclusion. They shouldn’t have killed off two main characters. I thought Debbie was an interesting character who had loads of potential, but they got Josh to slit her throat.

Very good show. I’m glad it wasn’t renewed because I can’t see another story being anywhere near as good nor as interesting as this one. Too many shows go on because they can and ultimately get run into the ground. When this happens what was good about the show gets lost. This 10 episode series was perfect.

This is the biggest bunch of BS I have seen in a long time. There was nothing in the DIG series that advocated the policies of the Israeli government. It was just a good yarn, one of the few exceptions to the formula series we normally see. These rights people ought to consider the rights of us viewers who read nothing political in the show’s content. These
rights groups are just dictating to us what they think is sanitary and the networks are caving in giving incorrect reasons of low viewership. Well, I am going to boycott USA Network with
their sanitized garbage of serial killers, stupid yuppies, and generally boring offerings. I hope
some other network will pick up on the the theme of DIG, one that cannot be pushed around by these misguided liberal idiots.

Um…I’m a liberal, I liked the show and know nothing about what your talking about. Liberals didn’t get Dig cancelled, poor ratings did. And even if liberals were to blame for the cancellation, all I have to say is Pot meet Kettle. Conservatives flipped their tits and called for boycotts over a Wells Fargo commercial that featured a Lesbian couple adopting a child, a JC Penny catalogue that featured a gay couple, and now a Campbell’s Soup commercial for featuring a family parented by 2 gay men.

I don’t believe liberals got the show cancelled, but even if it did, don’t ask liberals to do what conservatives fail to do themselves. It’s plainly hypocritical and ignorant.

Good riddance. Another silly, ridiculous show that uses judeochristian religion as its background, with the notion of “promised ones” and “prophecies” that somehow only a few people can unlock. Would your gods really have you go through all these hoops, just to send you a message? A message that’s supposedly for the WHOLE world, not just your tribe. This show had every cliché you can think of, and what is with the lead character, lamenting the loss of his kid, only to find a college grad girl who looks like her and then having a sexual tryst with her?? Ewww. But, that’s the bible for ya. 6000 years of incest and inbreeding. Wow.

Susan, Do I detect a trace of antisemitism in your stance?
. Nobody is asking you to accept the Jewish traditions of the Temple Mount. This still makes for a good yarn based on today’s realities of neo-Christians
awaiting the return of the messiah. Certainly, this plot is much more paletable than the other junk we see on TV with serial killers and deranged teenagers. One has to give some poetic license to the bible related
material, much of it being in allegorical form. I found it a thrilling program in the style of Indiana Jones looking for the lost ark of the covenant. It was shot in Jerusalem giving it some authenticity, whereas we see few productions using this city as a backdrop. Most people do not take these neo0christians seriously, but they do exist and continue to push their agenda in Israel. The show, if anything, brings out the absurdity
of their agenda, but I considered ttjat ,as a ,kind of a vehicle to incorporate into a exciting yarn.

Peter did NOT have a sexual tryst with Emma. They kissed in the water then he realized he couldn’t do it bc she looked like his daughter so he pulled away. After that there is nothing at all sexual between them. And even if they did have sex it obviously wouldn’t be incest. It seems everybody sits around waiting to be offended. How did people get to be such little thin skinned, ultra sensitive bitches? It’s FICTION. Get a life

Hopefully this will make a return. Truly bad news to see it go. What the heck else is USA going to put on this normally-lame network, more reruns of other shows? That’s a waste of resources.

Tbh I think it got cancelled cause it got to real as a possibility of what could happen. I’m not sayin its all real.just that with all the turmoil over there it gave to many ideas. When shows get to close to the truth the powers that be shut it down. Look what happened with Conspiracy Theory with my man Jesse Ventura. That last season he dug to far so they shut him down. Wouldn’t even pay him or tell him when it was airing. You can find interviews and comments about him talking about it. I dont think most people have a clue just how fucked up our world is and especially our government. Well actually its our shadow government thats trying to ruin the world. And if y’all dont think its real you are truly blind and lying to yourself.

All the good series don’t need to continue forever or several seasons. It’s like with good book, you get into it, you breath it and you live in it, but you’re happy when good story get it’s end and you don’t need to think what will happen in next season of the book. DIG was a great story, great TV serie and it’s great that story came to it*s end. Thanks!

I am not Jewish or Fundamentalist Christian. I am not member of GLBT and I do not have an ax to grind. Dig was just a really good TV show. It was suspenseful, had a great storyline, was well written and had incredible acting. I would think that alone would merit a second season. When great TV gets cancelled and trash shows like Duck Dynasty are perpetuated that really makes me question the intelligence of the people who choose the shows that will air.

I’m very disappointed that the USA in-charge nit-wits cancelled after only one season. At the least, they should have given it two seasons. One season isn’t enough to make that decision unless one is just a total flop and DIG wasn’t in that category at all. I found it different than anything on TV and I loved all the characters….not to mention the plot was very intriguing!

It was well-written, well-acted, intelligent, and kept your attention. What more do you need?
Okay – you need viewers, but I never would have known about this show unless I read about it in a tv critic’s column. It’s increasingly difficult to keep up with new shows, new seasons, etc etc and – often – by the time you discover a show you love, it’s been pulled due to a lack of audience. The news of

This is not like any other show and if what I read is correct The networks have no guts Because they do not want a show on that’s different and vibrant And keeps you on the edge of your seat. Networks wants the same old same old mind-numbing nobody cares type of show. Too bad, Dig was Excellent!

Sad…love that show. I hate when they cancel great shows because first year ratings were marginal. It’s so common now, that I have a ton of friends that won’t even watch a show until it’s been on for two years because they hate when they love a show and it gets cancelled after one year. I don’t see how quality shows can get cancelled, but stupid shows like Two Broke Girls and Housewives of XX continue.

Man, it’s sad to see the show was cancelled. I kept on looking to see if season two would show up since all the season one are On Demand. One of the only shows I watched.

WHAT A SHAME!!! This was a smart, intense and visually stunning series. Can believe that TV execs. let this one leave the network. It seems that real entertainment gets cancelled and all the stupid reality shows and sitcoms just keep rolling out for the masses. Really sorry to see this go.

I had been so looking forward to season two. Best series in recent history. Totally cool and so interesting. Why in the world do you cancel. Please be it back. Screw the criticism of the fanaticism of people who can’t be open-minded. 5☆ series.
