Showtime has cancelled Dice after two seasons. The comedy-drama will not return for Season 3, THR confirms:
The six-episode comedy’s freshman season was Showtime’s lowest-rated series in 2016, averaging 191,000 total viewers after having the entire season released in advance on SVOD platforms. Season two was down considerably from its rookie run, averaging 146,000 total viewers.
Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, the series followed the comedian as he worked in Las Vegas to resurrect his career while supporting his family. Armstrong and Clay exec produced the single-camera comedy alongside Sean Furst, Bryan Furst, Richard Shepard and Bruce Rubenstein.
The decision to roll Dice into the cancellation abyss comes as the premium cable network renewed The Chi for Season 2.
