Patrick Duffy has labelled early November as “pivotal” in the efforts to save Dallas following its cancellation by TNT.

Dallas was one of two shows I watched and waited for each and every week. Besides sports and movies, I don’t watch “tv shows” on their air date or aired time… I typically record them and watch them at a later date and/or buy them on DVD years later and watch them as a marathon when I’m bored – another option is to watch re-runs. My life is too busy to keep up with tv shows and base my activities on what TV shows come on when — BUT wheb Dallas came back I was instantly excited and ready to commit for another decade or however long it was going to be!! I was so excited!! As a child/teen growing up in Dubai, UAE, Dallas was one of the few shows we got to watch (although highly edited and a season or two behind) and I couldn’t wait for Friday nights when I got to see what the Ewings were up to — it was my only connection to the “Western World” and just good drama tv — others would watch Dynasty and Knotts Landing too but I never could get into those shows. Having said all that… Just when the new Dallas started getting unbelievably good and the storylines were developing, they just dropped the show!!?? That was like a football player being told he just can’t play after winning the SuperBowl, for no reason, in my opinion — that’s how it feels!!! Dallas was literally at its peak as far as storylines and developing characters and they just took it away without warning — just bad business and bad overall. I know a lot of us feel cheated and like you killed all the characters off instead of just pausing the series. As a huge Dallas fan, who originated on the other side of the world and now lives in Kentucky, I am beyond disappointed — I FINALLY got the sense of “belonging” to a crowd that “talked about the shows they watched” and just when it good real good and the network had us all comfortable, they snatched it away. It’s taken me a wrong time to write anyone about how I felt about this show being cancelled because to me it was more than just a great show — Dallas brought a sense of nostalgia, Dallas entertained, Dallas gave a sense of belonging, Dallas “brought it!” every week, and Dallas has in a sense… its own faithful community that will always love the show no matter what. Dallas deserves to stay — if ANY show should come back, it should be Dallas.
Sincerely,
Faithful Dallas Fan
