Lennie James says Critical warranted a second series/season.
Sky1 cancelled the real-time medical drama last summer, but James, who was on board to return for Series 2, believes it “deserved something other than a one and done”, per Digital Spy:
“I would’ve loved to have gone back and done another series. The show is something I’m immensely proud of. I had a huge amount of fun doing it.
He added:
“Critical opened in a blaze of publicity – and then there was nothing. It’s a pattern that Sky may well have to look at.
That show needed something else, because we were asking people to look at medical drama in a very different light. We were doing it without most of the fluff and nonsense of other medical shows – actually healing the patient through medicine, as opposed to a kind word and a hug.
Steven Brogan says
I loved Critical. And I’m gutted that it was cancelled; what an awful decision by Sky. It was such a tense, real, exciting and interesting show, with fantastic performances from the cast. Such a shame.
Christine Doole says
I want this show back I just watched the entire season one in less than 24 hrs. Cancelling the second season is a major oversight by Sky. The series gave a fresh spin on medical drama and I loved it
