Speaking in an interview with Forbes, Sarah Wayne Callies and Joshua Holloway suggest Colony‘s prospects of renewal at USA have been uplifted by the success of Mr. Robot:
For both of you, Colony is going to be the first drama premiering on USA following their newfound post-Mr. Robot world where everyone is looking to them. Have you found there’s more pressure on you guys now to be amazing, or has Carlton and Ryan kinda kept a lot of that away from you?
Callies: I think the reverse. I think what we’ve got is far more latitude and opportunity for an audience to go, “Yeah, sure. USA produces tremendous programs.” USA has been kicking ass for a super long time, but I think with Mr. Robot, all of a sudden people sat up and took a very close look at the originality and the power and the courage of the storytelling. I think that opens doors for us.
Holloway: I agree with that.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the status of Colony Season 2…
