A NCBUniversal Cable rep confirmed that the horror-centric channel would cease operations at the end of 2017. Its death comes after carriage struggles with multiple media companies, including Verizon, Charter, Dish and Cox. Chiller has hardly been hardly a marquee player for NBCU, but it is the latest network to fall this year. Cloo (formally Sleuth) officially died in January, and Esquire closed up shop after only three years on the air in June.

Since launching in March 2007, Chiller has aired mostly horror films and older TV fare along with one original scripted series, the Canadian horror anthology Slasher, which premiered in March 2016. Chiller also aired original reality fare and films such as Lifeforce and Siren, along with such off-net genre series as 666 Park Avenue, Being Human, Fear Factor, Tales From the Crypt, The Twilight Zone and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

RIP.

yes

No, I’m not happy. They may have shown whatever ‘crap’ they could get, but I don’t think X-Files, Twilight Zone etc. count as ‘crap’. They don’t to me. How can you cancel a whole channel?
Frank says
It never really had a consistent theme, just whatever cheap crap they could get.
Deborah says
Can’t miss something I never had…wasn’t part of my satellite tier..and probably not worth paying for another tier just to get one channel…
January says
Big yes!
Chris says
Showing edited horror movies with commercial breaks every 10 minutes is never a good idea.
Phillip says
It’s an ad-supported pay-TV channel. What did you expect?
Krickut says
We pay for the channels, we shouldn’t have to have commercials. If commercials want to be shown then they should only be on free channels. It’s BS to have to put up with crap one doesn’t want when we pay an arm and a leg for TV cable/satellite as is. I dropped packages because of price and no longer had this channel, but I agree with Chris..showing edited horror movies with commercials is not a good idea. Who wants to miss parts of a horror show with parts missing and then a commercial break? Especially when we can’t rent the whole movie with no commercials cheaper!!
Phillip says
Chiller is not a show, it’s a network. A network can rebrand or shut down, not be cancelled.

PLEASE BRING CHILLER CHANNEL BACK

I MISS CHILLER AND PLEASE PUT CHILLER BACK ON AIR
