NBC’s Chicago Med has lost its showrunner.
Executive producer Andrew Dettmann is existing the series over ‘creative differences,’ per THR.
Producers Universal Television said in a statement.
“Andrew Dettmann won’t be continuing as an executive producer on Chicago Med. The network and studio value their relationship with Andy and plan to continue to work on other projects together.”
Per Variety, there is no immediate replacement for Dettmann, but the Dick Wolf drama is being run by a core group of exec producers with production said to be moving forward in a ‘positive direction’.
Dettmann’s departure follows that of actress Laurie Holden earlier this month.

To bad. I was looking forward to that. Love Chicago Fire and Chicago PD and was curious to see what Chicago Med had to offer.

maryann – Chicago Med hasn’t been cancelled yet (it premieres Nov. 17 on NBC), but the showrunner departure raises questions. Stay tuned.
