Channel 4 has cancelled Alan Carr‘s Chatty Man after eight years and 16 series.
While Chatty Man will return for a 2016 Christmas special, the broadcaster has decided not to move forward with Series 17.
Speaking to the press, Carr lamented the move to Thursday nights and admitted the show failed to compete with The Graham Norton Show and The Jonathan Ross Show.
“I’ve gone as far as I can with Chatty Man. I just think that the art of the chat show has evolved unless you can get the amazing guests all the time that Norton gets.
I’ll be honest with you, I don’t think moving it to a Thursday was the best move. It feels like a party show, a Friday show.”
RIP.
