Building Alaska Returns To DIY Network with its Most Adventurous Season Yet
NEW YORK [For Immediate Release—February 6, 2017] Challenging terrain, brutal elements and hazardous conditions are the status quo when building in the remote Alaskan wilderness, but resourceful builders are up for the challenge in the new season of DIY Network’s Building Alaska. Premiering Sunday, February 26, at 9 and 10 p.m. ET/PT, the eight-episode series follows the intrepid journeys of three young builders, Nick Blanco, Ben Crew and Brannon Richart as they each set out with their teams to construct one-of-a-kind lodges among the stunning landscape.
In the premiere episode, Brannon and his savvy crew must improvise while hauling 15 tons of building materials along an unmaintained trail through the remote Alaskan interior. Meanwhile, Ben and his father Jere sail head-on into a brewing storm while towing 60,000 pounds of precious cargo to their isolated island build site. Then, first-time builder Nick faces delays early-on when he discovers a missing part that halts construction and compromises his budget.
“There are no roads whatsoever out here,” says Nick. “It’s completely off the grid. You’ve gotta be self-sufficient all the time and you need to have a plan B.”
“You can fight it or you can roll with it—just another day in Alaska,” says Ben. (DIY)
