CBS has effectively cancelled BrainDead after one season, with the network dumping the freshman comic thriller to Sundays and replacing it with Scorpion repeats, per THR:
The network is moving its freshman series BrainDead to Sundays at 10 p.m. beginning Sunday, July 24 and replacing the low-rated comic thriller with repeats of Scorpion.
Scorpion will first return to Mondays on July 18 at 9 p.m., leading into the network’s hourlong primetime coverage of the Republican National Convention at 10 p.m. Two weeks later, after primetime coverage of the Democratic National Convention on July 25, Scorpion will move back an hour to 10 p.m. — its normal timeslot during the regular season.
Here’s the updated schedule:

Coupled with BrainDead‘s low-ratings, scheduling moves like this usually signal cancellation – and has the reaper sharpening his blade.
BrainDead entered the world with a four-season plan, which now looks extremely optimistic.
Can BrainDead survive its Sunday shift, or is it indeed dead after one season? Stay tuned…

No! Keep Braindead!!!
NME says
I love Braindead. It is so funny. The cast is great!!!
Joyce says
Stupid show. Bring back Good Wife now.

I am surprised that CBS has allowed “Zoo” to continue as it is so different. “Braindead” is different and unique. I think CBS bows out on a series too quickly and goes for the mundane comedies and cop/investigative shows to stay safe. You’ll never keep up with competition such as: The Walking Dead, Lucifer, Damian, Preacher, if you don’t take some chances. I only watch CBS for Braindead and Zoo.
Joyce says
You think any of these shows are better than “Good Wife”?
Pat says
Love love love brain dead!!! I think people just never realized what the program really was. As it went on it got more and more hilarious- Plus its smart and sexy. The characters a diverse and adorable!

I think cancelling this show would be a short-sighted and a mistake. This is one of the best short season shows on this network in a long time. While it’s ratings aren’t that great, I believe it has a loyal following that would continue to grow in a better time slot. And I don’t doubt it could gain prestige for the network through awards for it’s writing and cast. The bean counters have far too much say on what stays on the air and what doesn’t.
Jerry Deasy says
Really enjoying the show. It is original, quirky and offbeat and the cast is great. I cannot imagine where the show is headed from week to week which makes me want to tune in all the more. Not sure why such a good show is on CBS however.

I Love this show. Just watched the first season finale and sounds like no season two. The ending just about said it. Too bad. One of the only series I still watch on CBS.
Richard Peddie says
Too many shows being cancelled these days it makes you very careful about what you watch.
I tend to wait for a second series until I start a new show these days, I’ve been stung too many times !
For instance, I stay in the UK, Scotland, SyFy has being advertising “Hunters” for ages, they’ve
really been flooding the ad breaks BUT I know it’s been cancelled so I’ve been saying to my friends
DON’T BOTHER WATCHING it’s dumped already. SO when the series ends on a cliffhanger…NOTHING !
Braindead is one of the few shows I’ve watched from the start and it’s a breath of fresh air, good story line, good acting, quirky and funny. BET YOU A MILLION DOLLARS IT’LL BE CANCELLED ?
Joyce says
Hope it is. The same writers cancelled Good Wife. Good Wife was a show worth watching

I loved this show. Casting was spot on. Braindead was witty, satirical, and intelligent. In other words it is doomed.
