May 7, 2015 – ABC renews Blackish for Season 2.
October 24 – Yet more positive news for Black-ish: ABC orders an additional TWO episodes on top of the full season order, taking Season 1 to 24 episodes. The series looks incredibly good for Season 2 renewal.

Why do black families always have to be portrayed as rich on t.v.? From rap videos to sitcoms they seem to feel the need to show everyone that they have money.. do they need to send some kind of message? White shows dont do that. I would list them but all of them are pretty grounded.. But why is are the main characters in black shows shown as being rich?

Are you serious??? First of all they are not portrayed as rich, they are being portrayed as having more than enough. And even if, what is your deal. I mean not every black Family is poor and not every black family is rich. And where do you even get off saying that “they” need to send some sort of message, most of the people who create these shows are not even black. there are as many tv shows with “poor” white people starring either. You need to get your information straight. There are in comparison the same amount of poor black people shows as poor white people shows, statistically speaking as there are more shows starring white people than black.

In response to all of those critics who seem to think that “black-ish” is primarily about race relations and how affluent , successful African-Americans are just flaunting their material and monetary wealth, I would like to point out that people overlook that aspect of the show where the Johnson family learns something positive about itself IN SPITE OF their affluence and success. Not only does this show demonstrate how far we still have yet to grow as African-Americans of wealth and status, it also illustrates how much we can learn from each other and how much stronger we are as African-Americans when we come together as a family unit- yes once again IN SPITE OF the trappings of affluence and success.

I urge all of those naysayers demanding the shows cancellation to watch more than just a couple of episodes before you are quick to critique that which you do not understand.

I love this show, especially Traci Ross. I have followed her since her show The Dish very classy lady. I like her style and it doesn’t have anything to do with money. People please think outside the box and you’re understand the concept. Open minds evolved!!! This is a great show.

In all honesty I hated this show at first. But when you watch it a lot it has a lot of powerful lessons in there. Some of you should actually look into what they are saying and what they are learning. Versus quickly assuming anything with race is racist. Try to at least watch the whole episode to see what the johnson family learns and its funny.

DO NOT CANCEL. This show is to good to not be appreciated to its fullest for its creativity. I don’t care what the opposing argument says about it. This show has been created for the purpose of entertainment not for little whiny socialists to sit here and bitch about racism and equality. This show is for comedy entertainment, if you can’t handle that then why are you watching it?
