Big Brother UK cancelled?
The long-surviving reality show is facing the axe on Channel 5, unless producers Endomel Shine can revamp the series.
Speaking to the press, C5 director of programmes Ben Frow made it clear that the reality show will be cancelled at the end of its current deal, which expires in 2018, unless changes are made to boost ratings, per RadioTimes:
I would be much happier if the channel did not have Big Brother on it,” Frow said. “I like the ratings but I want to create our own programmes. I don’t really want other people’s programmes. I want my own programmes that we have created.”
Love Island gave us a little bit of a jolt this year, and it’s no bad thing,” added Frow. “It got the two-week head start, which made me f***ing angry frankly.
By contrast, the Celebrity Big Brother final had an overnight audience of just 900,000 – consolidated with catch-up viewing to 1.2 million.
So urgent is the problem that Frow is understood to have tasked Endemol Shine, the production company behind Big Brother, to deliver changes ahead of a renegotiation of their current deal, which expires next year.
Are you a fan of Big Brother UK? Should the series be cancelled at the end of 2018, or would you like to see it continue?

God I hope this is true, awful programme.
Dick K. Phillip says
Most of the “contestants” on the Channel 5 version of Big Brother have been no-marks and uninteresting or showoffs and crazy. Most of the winners have been unpleasant or dull as dishwater. Something needs to be done about auditioning. The poor quality of contestants is the real reason the show is dying. You cannot, as they say, polish a turd.

The producers should check out the success of Game of Thrones and throws some female nudity, incest and violence at the programme and see if it sticks. And a lot of completely gratuitous sexual intercourse. Bare boobs, bums, dongs and pussies sell. You know it makes sense!
