With the cancellation reaper thwarted, Bates Motel will end on its own terms in 2017, but star Freddie Highmore says the fifth and final season doesn’t yet feel like the end, per Digital Spy:
“Season five is going to be such a big season, and I’m writing another episode this year, and I’m going to direct one too. So there’s so much that’s still to come and ahead of me with that, and none of us feel like the end is there.
“We’ve still got a huge season left to do. So I don’t think it will really hit until we’re almost done, come January when we’re nearly finished [filming]. Then it will feel real.”
So with all of that talk about it being a “huge” season, we obviously had to ask if the shower scene will be part of it.
“I guess we’ll just have to see!” Freddie teased. “We can’t give it all away or there will be no point watching! But we’ll see Marion Crane. It’s going to be brilliant, it’s an exciting season.”
What are your hopes for the final season of Bates Motel?
Alvin A says
I’m ready to go with the writers and cast because they’ve all done such a fantastic job adding to Robert Blotch’s original storyline. I should say Blotch & Hitchcock’s storyline. I only hope his brother & brother’s wife survive. That might mean going to the end of the bok PSYCHO. Norman does survive but his brother isn’t mentioned. But thanks for the nonstop nail-biters.
