Bates Motel Ending After Season 5 – ConfirmedMay 7, 2015 by RenewCancelTV Leave a CommentCarlton Cuse has once again confirmed that Bates Motel will end after Season 5.In a Reddit AMA, the showrunner stated that there will be two more seasons after the current third season, consisting of 20 episodes in total, taking the horror series through to its final fifth season:“Obviously, the Norma / Norman relationship is absolutely at the heart of the show. And I can say, for sure, that there will be a number of ups & downs in the remaining 20 episodes, that we’ll follow for the next 2 seasons. The Norman / Norma story is one of great tragedy – your hope as a writer is that the audience is hoping against hope that the characters don’t meet their inevitable fate. Certainly everything that happens downstream won’t be tragic – but Norman is definitely evolving into a character like that in the film.”Of course, the next step on Bates Motel’s journey towards the end is an official fourth season renewal, which is expected to be announced shortly.
