It’s not a fifth season renewal, at least not yet, but Bar Rescue star Jon Taffer has strengthened ties with Spike after inking a first-look deal with the cable network to develop more content.
Said Taffer, per Deadline:
Spike TV has been extremely supportive since day one and I couldn’t imagine signing this deal with any other network. Together we have grown Bar Rescue into a household name and programming staple. I look forward to continuing our work in creating original content that builds on our tremendous success to date.”
Spike TV’s EVP Original Series Sharon Levy said:
We are incredibly thrilled to expand our successful partnership with Jon. Throughout four seasons of Bar Rescue, America has witnessed Jon Taffer transform small businesses with his innovative techniques and big ideas. We can’t wait to see what else Jon has to say on Spike. This is just the beginning.”
While the deal focuses on Taffer developing other projects for the network, it could well open the door to a potential fifth season as the series nears 100 episodes.
On the flip side, it could spell the end of the series after Season 4. We’ll have to wait and see the context to which Spike and Taffer ‘build’ on Bar Rescue.
Bar Rescue Season 4 returns October 4 on Spike.
