In an interview with Collider, Banshee boss Jonathan Tropper elaborates on his decision not to continue the Cinemax drama into Season 5, noting that while the series could have moved forward, it would have compromised the story:
The fourth season being the last season was a combination of factors. I was always upset when shows I loved stuck around too long and starting generating extra plot. Once we ended Season 3 and Lucas Hood was basically no longer the sheriff, the premise of the show was about a fake sheriff, so going on for many more seasons, it would have been ridiculous for him to become the sheriff again. The town itself might have had plenty of stories to tell, but it felt like the story of Lucas Hood was coming to an end. All the pitches we came up with, for how to extend that, felt like, “Well, maybe that’s cool, but that’s a different show.” The move to Lucas’ post-sheriff life was the beginning of the end. It was the beginning of the conclusion, and trying to have a conclusion for two seasons, it felt like we would lose some of the immediacy of the storytelling. And ending with eight episodes was really a financial decision. We have a finite amount of money. To have done ten episodes at that budget, we would not have been able to deliver the action we wanted to deliver, and we wouldn’t have been able to deliver the depth of episodes that we’re accustomed to doing. So, we decided to do eight episodes and make them really rich.

It can be further extended to Season 5 & Even Season 6. I have a story line up for that & that too very much relevant. It has to be given a chance or else it will be like…What Is This?……There is so so much which can be told & shown.

Its 2017 and im watching reruns. Went on a binge. TV will never be the same for me. I judge each new show on Banshee….So far my heart is broken

One of the best made for tv dramas I’ve been hooked on in a very long time. Need more, some spinoff, something that brings Hood back!!!!! I liked all the characters but Hood, Bunker, Burt, and Job were by far the best. Come on…….SPINOFF!!!!!!!

1) brotherhood remain as it is incomplete story of bunker
2) Carrie or Anna stay on banshee.she must have ended with Lucas hood.
3) unknown history of Burt
4) what happen to red Indians
5)not know name and military history of Lucas hood
6) yes,name banshee of series indicated story about the shit happen In town but some sheet remain as it is

Excellent ideas. I always wanted to know Lucas Hoods real name, Job’s background ( CIA, Special Forces, etc). Also, you could do as many seasons as possible based on heist Job & Lucas Hood did.

The show’s only setback was network and exposure, you usually think of cinemas shows as a waste of space and then this comes out of nowhere. A real action packed drama, in TV it was right there with Sons of Anarchy, Justified and select episodes of The Walking Dead / Breaking bad “those two shows would take a season to showcase one or two episodes of Banshee “especially TWD”. I understand that to get people hooked on a cinemax show, packing all you can in an episode was a good tactic but apparently they ran out of story by trying to pack so much to keep getting renewed “whereas other networks offering security gives showrunners creative freedom” I wish their big brother HBO had ahold of the show, it would be a household name and still going. One can only imagine what a larger budget could have done if this was what it was. Definitely one of my top 2-3 shows of all time, the only reason I had Cinemax for a couple years as well.
I do hope it comes back in some way, if they could make the last few seasons of Dexter, SOA or others far after they ran out of steam…Hell they could make Banshee to season 15 with the never ending possibilities.

Doesn’t make any sense for Hood to leave Carrie Hopewell behind at the end even while they were still madly in love. What’s the point? If it’s gonna end then let it end properly atleast
