Having hit a brick wall at NBC and FOX, efforts to reboot American Idol are back on, this time with ABC circling the project, TMZ reports:
Sources at ABC and Fremantle — the company that produces the show — tell TMZ the network contacted Fremantle last week and made the bid. We’re told the network wanted to reboot the show for a March 2018 premiere.
We’re also told ABC inquired about making Ryan Seacrest the host, but even last week the network knew it was on the verge of signing Ryan as co-host of ‘Live’ with Kelly Ripa.
The publication also reports that NBC and FOX may not be totally out of the bidding for the Idol reboot. Stay tuned…

I am tired of Seacrest and did not like the last panel of judges at all. Over the years, the show evolved into one about the judges and not the talent. When Randy and Simon left, attention turned away from the singers. I would like to see the show back with its format intact and the original judges (won’t happen).

I totally agree with you….Now,Seacrest has the job with Kelly Ripa.
Don’t like that show either……Not even watching Americas Got talent, with Tyra Banks taking Nick Cannons job
