ABC has turned the volume down on FOX.
The network has defended its act of raising American Idol from the dead, a year after FOX buried the reality show while making a song and dance of it, per EW:
The network is bringing back the reality competition for a 16th season next year. On Monday, a top executive at Idol‘s former network had some strong words about the move, calling a return so soon “extremely fraudulent.”
“Look, from where we sit, we feel it’s a great time to bring the series back. What I love about it, personally, [is that Idol is] about uplifting stories about people who make their dreams come true — and that’s our sweet spot at ABC. All of our franchises deal in that. For me, that makes it feel like the perfect home at the perfect time.”
Will you follow Idol to ABC next year, or can you think of nothing worse?

I’ll probably be watching. Whether it does really well will be if they can be smart about it. I finally quit watching Idol because you couldn’t really decide on who to back. They had great singers from different genres & they were all usually great. So it became about voting for a genre rather than a singer. Since I like all kinds of music I would just get aggravated with the decision & quit watching.
Honestly, I’m truly not sure how they can fix this problem. Maybe the stories were not inspiring enough to make me back 1 performer? I LOVE Harry Connick Jr though so if he’s back, I will most likely watch the first season at least, to see how ABC does with it.
