Elves and hobbits rejoice as Lord Of The Rings gets early renewal for a second season.
The streaming service has renewed the TV series based on J.R.R. Tolien’s fantasy novels which is ramping up in New Zealand. The early renewal will allow for a much shorter break between season 1 and season 2.
The writing team for the series, which is led by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, will use a four or five month break after filming the first couple episodes of season 1 to map out and write the majority of Season 2 scripts.
The series is to be set in Middle Earth like the movies, but the TV series will look at new storylines preceding J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring in the Second Age. The cast members have yet to be confirmed by Amazon, but is believed to include Will Poulter, Markella Kavenagh and Joseph Mawle.
