Alias spied 105 episodes on ABC across five seasons. While the Jennifer Garner-led action thriller has spent the last decade in the TV afterlife, writer Josh Appelbaum believes there’s scope for a Season 6 revival, but only if the right idea came along, per THR:
“It would be amazing to do it [The original series left an open thread about Sydney’s daughter that could be revisited in a revival] But the right idea would have to come. We wouldn’t want to do it unless it was absolutely perfect.”
Reflecting on the final season, writer Andre Nemec said:
“We came into season five knowing that that was going to be the last year because again we knew about [Garner’s] pregnancy. Jennifer was a huge star and Jennifer was now in hers 30s and she really wanted a family so I think there practical considerations going on as well.
Added EP Ken Olin of Alias‘ demise:
“[Garner’s] contract was up and it was clear she needed this time to have her children. And it seemed right. We had burned through so much story!”
