Disney XD has today officially renewed animated series Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and Marvel’s Avengers Assemble for Season 2.
Per TVGuide:
Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., which features a team of brawny heroes, “begins its second season by diving into one of the biggest, most epic Hulk stories ever,” according to Stephen Wacker, Marvel Television’s vice president of current animation. The story, based on the acclaimed comic book storyline “Planet Hulk,” will “set the course for a cosmic catastrophe that is the backbone for much of the season,” Wacker says. “It’s a new direction that is going to lead to a lot of smashing and an astounding amount of guest stars from across Marvel’s entire universe.”
On Avengers Assemble’s second season, “the threat of the cosmic warlord Thanos hangs over the team, threatening to destroy them from outside and in,” Wacker says. Fans will also see the rise of Ultron — who just so happens to be the next villain in the Avengers’ live-action theatrical universe — and the return of the Squadron Supreme. “Season 1 was just a warm-up for what promises to be the No. 1 super team’s greatest challenge yet,” Wacker says.
