Amazon Prime has renewed Absentia for Seasons 2 and 3.
Per Deadline, the series has tapped new showrunner Samantha Corbin-Miller to helm the multi-season renewal.
The news tallies insider reports that Season 2 has already been internally approved. Reports of a third season renewal would keep Absentia safe through 2020.
Absentia Season 1 premiered on AXN, with Amazon holding US and global streaming rights to the series.
Absentia Season 2 is slated to release early 2019 on the streaming platform.

March 12, 2018 at 20:27I have given myself a headache repeating this a Gazillion times, Absentia is going to continue Indefinitely, I have said this from the Get Go beforen it even aired. Sony & Amazon knew what they were getting when they signed Stana Katic on at the helm, to be the Star & an Executive Producer of this Extraordinary Epic production, they knew they were getting the Mastermind actress in the industry and she is ratings Gold that would transend Amazon & Create History. They also knew ABC’s Epic lose is now their Golden Goose. if I were Sony I would make sure to give her every dime she is worth because they are going to make it back a Gazillion;lion times overI Also offer her a lengthy contract, don’t repeat the asinine mistake ABC made!
ABC knows they made a grave mistake when they let her go, but the truth is they will never admit it because they don’t have Stana’s degree of Intregrity, For all those involved, you very well know who you are, (lets be Honest, that word probably doesn’t exist at ABC) in firing her, Stana didn’t need Castle, Castle needed Stana! Castle season 9 didn’t happen & everyone knows why, they won’t admit that either.
Out of all of this Stana Katici is will always be the Greatest Winner of them all!

I must go now I have to watch Absentia, only show on the planet worth watching!

June 25, 2018 at 12:39Well. that’s nice and all, but I just don’t see this as a multi-season show. I dragged myself to the end of season 1 by working ever harder to ignore the absurdities but I’m done. If the ‘star’ is more important than the story and every one else is just there to make up the numbers the cracks are going to show eventually.
